Aday is looking for an experienced and hungry individual with strong garment manufacturing knowledge to manage our development and global supply chain. The role is based in London at our office in Somerset House with work-from-home days. This position reports directly to the Chief Product Officer and will work in close partnership with our founders, design, technical design, planning and marketing.


The world of the Product Development and Production Manager at Aday

You will be passionate about bringing collections to life, taking product from initial concept through to final delivery to the customer. Working hand in hand with the design team on a daily basis, you will build and communicate the product creation calendar and manage the garment critical path. You will manage our suppliers, lead times, MOQs and intake margins and ensure that key dates are met. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Building on supplier relationships with a focus on collaboration, mutual trust, simplicity in communication and delightful partnership
  • Manage and place bulk production orders with manufacturers
  • Manage and place fabric orders for quick response and chase strategies
  • Update the line plan and other product team tools with the latest information on production orders, status and costs
  • Source new factories and mills for current and new product areas that can provide a competitive advantage
  • Control the intake margin via effective cost negotiation in partnership with our Planner
  • Innovate on how we do things: from new ways of manufacturing (e.g. made-to-order) to new supplier arrangements (e.g. small batch production): we love new ideas!
  • Support the Design team to build tech packs and BOMs including specs measurements providing advice and sharing your expertise
  • Provide technical support in fit sessions, wearer testing and with lap dip and strike off approvals
  • Support Design in presenting the collection to the broader team
  • Cross-team collaboration with marketing, creative, web and others, keep everyone informed of any changes that could impact launch dates and collaboratively ideate new launch strategies
  • Lead the QC and risk assessment process and deliver flawless quality in keeping with our brand DNA (manage 3rd party, nominate QC method to factory, follow up on (failed) QC with factories
  • Manage fabric test and RSL testing process
  • Work with Finance calculate final COGS tracking with correct freight and duty rates
  • Partner with planning on buy quantities for never out of stock styles, repeat style, and new styles
  • Monitor style performance of best and worst sellers
  • Ensure that all vendors and mills meet our sustainability requirements (factory compliance and auditing)
  • Visit vendors as and when required
  • Attend vendor and fabric fairs as and when required
  • Manage train and develop junior team members


Being a Product Development and Production Manager at Aday means that you have strong motivation, excellent organisational skills and a commercial mindset. Skills and job requirements (must-haves):

  • A degree in a fashion or fashion-related subject
  • At least 5-7+ years of experience in product development and production
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing
  • Experience or interest in sustainability and responsible business practices and innovation
  • Fluent in Business English (a second language is an asset) as well as cross-cultural communication skills
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit and treatment
  • Strong industry knowledge and good understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Broad knowledge of garment costing and cost engineering
  • A hands-on manager and team player
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Adobe
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Calm and organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Thrive on deadlines
  • Ability to travel to the source base when required
