Sr. Mechanical Engineer Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, test, and launch the next generation of battery printing equipment into production
- Convert product requirements into technical specifications
- Create conceptual and detailed mechanical designs
- Build, assemble, and validate the system to strict specifications
- Work in cross-functional teams to iterate on designs and provide feedback on key mechanical details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in automation platform/machine design
- Experience in designing precision mechatronic systems
- Experience leading the design of automated industrial machinery
- Experience in taking products from early prototypes through production
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and with strong communication skills
- Expert in CAD, PDM, and PLM best practices (SolidWorks preferred)
- Expertise in ASME Y14.5
- Team player with a passion for clean energy projects
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering
- 15 years of experience in mechanical design
- Experience with battery manufacturing or powder 3D printing
- Rapid prototyping skills (mill and lathe, 3D printing, ect)
- Must be able to develop prototyping and transition into product launch
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Six Sigma Training and certification is a plus.
