SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

Zartico is looking to add a Data Engineer to the team. In this role, Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Be a part of the Data Engineering team to develop data infrastructure that is able to ingest and transform data at scale coming from many different sources, different customers, and in many different varieties. You will build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources and build robust data pipelines that collect, process and compute business metrics from activity data. You will be responsible for creating critical datasets for machine learning, growth funnels, business forecasting, and many other strategic initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in Data Engineering, specifically Python, SQL, Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Airflow). In addition to needing an ability to problem-solve effectively, you will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.

What You’ll Do:

Comfortable writing code in Python or SQL
Comfortable configured orchestration of data pipelines
Ability to understand and contribute to our data engineering and architecture
Ability to take feedback and code review
Responsible for overseeing your own work and understand the quality and reliability of your pipeline(s)
Understanding and contributing to data engineering architecture
Understand how to use the right tools for the right jobs
Collaborate on requirements with technology and product teams
Comfortable with asking questions when you don’t understand something
Learn how to efficiently maintain technical skills and investment through certifications and staying abreast of the latest innovations in data engineering

Required Skills:

SQL and NoSQL

Comfortable and efficient with remote work

Preferred Skills:

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) build AND architecture experience using both vendor agnostic solutions as well as cloud native

Nice-to-Haves

Familiarity with distributed computing (Spark, Pyspark)
Familiarity with geolocation data, web impressions data, spending data, and lodging data will provide you an edge

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a directly related technical field
5+ years of data engineering experience
1+ years of SQL or NoSQL database experience that includes elements of administration, programming, etc.
Bonus: GCP Professional Cloud Certifications for Data Engineer, Cloud Database Engineer, or other related certifications
