Job Highlights:

As a Backend Test & Quality Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with an innovative and diverse product and operational organization. 


Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Perform quality assurance work on an assigned Agile team in support of product release goals. Responsible for assigned aspects of software testing, including developing test automation, creating test plans, test cases, test data and then executing test cases. Perform product development work as needed on an assigned Agile team in support of product release goals. Participate in design sessions to influence product design based on testing needs. Responsibilities also include development of level of effort estimates for assigned work, participation in project planning, project status meetings and participation in any post-implementation reviews to identify and recommend solutions to close identified gaps and ensure product success. Provide assistance to verify/reproduce reported issues.

Your Skills and Expertise

  • Software tester (QA) and software test automation

  • Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks, manual testing tools, techniques, methods and procedures 

  • Hands-on experience with test automation, test case creation, and test plan management 

  • Experience with JavaScript, Java, HTML, Angular, Python, SQL

  • Experience writing SQL (min 2 years) and Backend Testing (min 2 years)

  • Experience with automated testing of web applications and web services

  • Experience working as part of a Scrum team and familiarity with Scrum team ceremonies such as a daily stand up, backlog refinement, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, and sprint planning 

  • Experience working with remote team members Ability to test software from an end user perspective

Experience and Mindset Needed

  • 2+ Years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer with Backend Testing

  • BA/BS in a quantitative or computer science field or High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution, or a minimum of five (5) years of software development experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree education requirement

  • Fluency in SQL (writing) and a programming language

  • A successful history of testing large disconnected datasets
