Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer to join our Cybersecurity team. This position will work closely with the SOC to mitigate incidents as well as our Principal Engineers and infrastructure team to maintain, update, and introduce new functionality to the existing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise on architecture, authentication and system security
- Conduct security architecture reviews and makes recommendations
- Lead security infrastructure projects
- Responsible for Tier 2 Palo Alto firewall tasks including support, deployment, and management
- Manage EDR tool
- Handle escalations from Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams
- Triages and handles/escalates security issues independently
- Respond to True Positive security incidents as acting incident commander
- Update and provide documentation of current and new processes which adhere to best practices
- Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects
- Assist with development of security training and guidance for SOC staff
- Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

Qualifications
- 10+ years of previous security experience
- Must have experience in Incident Response as Incident Commander
- Previous experience in a CSIRT role required
- Must have experience triaging and investigating Alarms generated by SIEM
- Palo Alto FW management via Panorama experience
- Palo Alto Prisma Access admin-level knowledge
- Ability to interact confidently with technical POC’s and clients
- Must have a professional demeanor
- Must be organized, able to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously
- Independent, with the ability to effectively work unsupervised, apply judgement and flexibility
- Proactive, able to note tasks that need to be accomplished without being prompted
- Previous experience working directly with technical engineers and practice managers as well as non-technical end users
- Strong technical/troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrable skills related to implementation of large IT architectures
- Scripting and/or development experience is a plus
- Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
