Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Teleport RF Engineer for our Kapolei, Hawaii location.  This is an on-site position. This position supports and maintains all facilities and equipment to include antennas and all associated RF and IF equipment and cabling to the customer racks. The Teleport RF Engineer is the primary POC for IOT and Earth Station verification testing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade and testing of all RF equipment from antenna to converters to include IFL distribution/Fiber paths to the customer racks.
  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of all site facilities to include but not limited to A/C’s, building structures, power runs, rack installations and outside plant.
  • Responsible for the PM’s of all RF equipment and Antenna’s.
  • Assist in training of Operations personnel in relation to RF/Facilities systems.
  • Troubleshoot all RF issues, including those escalated from the Operations group.
  • Provide after-hours technical support for Operations technicians.
  • Maintain inventory of all parts and equipment for the station to include but not limited to Antenna’s, RF/IFL equipment, splitters/combiners, adapters, racks, cabling.
  • Direct support for any IOT/Earth Station Verification testing services at any time of the day when scheduled.
  • Documentation of all work
  • Other related duties as may be assigned
  • Must be reachable after hours for support issues.

Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Min 3-5 years Earth Station experience with Maintenance/Operations of Facilities, Antenna’s and RF equipment.
  • Able to perform basic RF calculations for EIRP and Gain
  • Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail required.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Must have excellent skills using Microsoft Office products, especially Visio and Excel
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze relationships between problem components.
  • Possesses the capacity to identify and prioritize issues.
  • Possess project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proactive and resourceful individual and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to use a variety of test equipment, to include a Spectrum Analyzer
  • Must be able to interpret Link Budgets and identify RF levels and Frequencies required for services
  • Ability to to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb antennas at Teleport
  • Must be able to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
