We are seeking a Junior Sales Engineer. The purpose of this role is to provide assistance to other Solution Architects. The ideal candidate for this position has a degree in business administration with a focus on information technology. In addition to assisting other Solution Architects, the Sales Engineer will work with current and potential customers to design and assist with selling multi-manufacturer partner technology solutions. This role will expose the Sales Engineer to one or more of the following critical technology vendors: Cisco, HPE, Dell, VMware, Nutanix, Aruba, and others. This is a customer-facing position that will require minimal travel.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist Solution Architects with day-to-day tasks and duties.
  • Meet with Calian customers to provide pre-sales analysis, design, recommendations, and justification for customized solutions within the customer's environment.
  • Create and deliver customer-facing presentations.
  • Provide detailed design documentation, including diagrams detailing configurations and installation process.
  • Produce accurate Bill of Materials and Statements of Work
  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Minimum of Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent years of experience
  • Strong desire to learn technology and acquire skills
  • Aptitude for all things technical
  • Open to meeting and working with customers and internal team members
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills at the business and technical level
  • Able to collaborate as part of a team to deliver exceptional customer results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Beginner-level knowledge and experience with the following:
  • Cybersecurity
  • Cloud
  • Compute/storage
  • Networking
Preferred Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Sales Engineer position has no supervision responsibilities.
