The Elevate Prize Foundation is a nonprofit on a mission to "Make Good Famous" by creating a fanbase for good and igniting a global movement for change. Through its signature program, the Elevate Prize, the foundation empowers social entrepreneurs and activists by providing them with an unrestricted grant and tailored programming to help amplify their story and bring visibility to their work.  


We are always looking for other mission-driven thought leaders to join our team and provide not only their expertise and experiences but grow as we grow. This newly created, full-time position is designed to act as an advisor and strategist for the grantees, supporting them with expertise across the fields of communications, marketing, and creative execution. The Creative and Communications Strategist will play an integral part in helping the recipients of the Elevate Prize in the realization of the foundation’s mission to Make Good Famous, by meeting the social impact leaders where they are, supporting their creative needs in the moment, and helping them to devise a 2 year plan to effectively bring visibility to their story and work. 


Overview

The Creative and Communications Strategists works to support the creative communications and marketing infrastructure, initiatives, and overall strategy of the winners of the Elevate Prize.  The ideal candidate is a person who is nimble, experienced, and adaptable; someone who has executed collaboratively in a wide variety of creative projects.  We are looking for a seasoned professional with a wealth of recognized accomplishments and expertise to define and deliver effective marketing and communications strategies for our prize winners.  


The Creative and Communications Strategist will drive successful marketing/communications ventures and support creative endeavors for a diverse set of social impact leaders and their organizations.  Acting as a thought partner, mentor, and advisor, this candidate will work both tactically, strategically, and creatively to level up the clients’ existing playbook. The Creative and Communications Strategist will work with each Prize winner to identify a set of priorities and/or tentpole project (e.g. may include strategic planning and goal setting, establishing a hiring plan, or execution of a creative campaign) and provide hands on support to see each to its fruition. They will also support the creation of a 2-year plan for the leader and their team to execute reflecting their in-house capabilities and budget. 

  

This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.


Essential Responsibilities & Duties 


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the creative strategic thought partner and advisor for entrepreneurs and their organizations. 

  • Participate in auditing process for the Elevate Prize winners at the start of the program, and manage other participating vendors

  • Assist Prize winners in developing and executing against creative/marketing goals and objectives for the organization or on a campaign level based on their unique needs and resources, which may include:

    • Creating or informing creative/marketing campaign ideas, messaging, etc

    • Developing the structure of the winner’s marketing/creative/communications department

    • Managing and negotiating vendor and/or partner contracts 

    • Supporting fundraising efforts through marketing activities/campaigns

  • Work with Prize winners to create a 2-year creative plan designed to be executed by the winner and their in-house team.

  • Gather relevant insights to inform strategic guidance

  • Coordinate marketing efforts with organizations’ stakeholders/leaders

  • Manage marketing budgets as needed

  • Stay abreast of trends in the creative and impact sectors, and advise organization leaders on how to strategically implement them 

  • Work collaboratively with Management Strategist(s) supporting Elevate Prize winners around enterprise-building, fundraising, and growth strategy

  • Regularly check in with Elevate Prize Foundation’s CMO, and present strategic recommendations for winners to CMO for approval

  • Determine and monitor KPI’s for the department and present reports and findings to CMO and other leadership as needed



Requirements & Skills 

  • 15+ years in Marketing Communications or Creative field; 5+ years in a significant Marketing or Creative senior role; ideally has experience across impact, nonprofit, and private sectors 

  • Previous agency or consulting experience working directly with clients and in-house Creative or Marketing teams a plus

  • In-depth knowledge of creative and communications strategy, multi-platform marketing, content creation, partnerships, public relations, and analytics

  • Accomplished track record of creating campaigns and initiatives that exceed organizational objectives

  • Dual-brained: balances being practical and strategic with brazen creativity

  • Experienced in juggling a variety of projects in various stages of development

  • Thrives in an ever-changing, entrepreneurial environment

  • Loves to problem-solve through a creative lens

  • Significant interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); experience in effectively sharing key data, including presentations to all levels of leadership


This role will be based in either Miami or may be remote.
