The Child Neurology Foundation (CNF) is a national non-profit that works to support the whole child neurology community. We are the only non-profit in the child neurology advocacy space that was started by physicians, and to this day we have strong physician leadership on our Board of Directors.

The Child Neurology Foundation connects partners from all areas of the child neurology community so those navigating the journey of disease diagnosis, management, and care have the ongoing support from those dedicated to treatments and cures. CNF has been expanding steadily and is now seeking to dramatically accelerate this growth. We are looking for a mission-focused and strategic Development Manager to join our team.

Position Summary

The Development Manager advances the mission of CNF by creating and maintaining impactful, measurable, and engaging corporate partnerships. Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive, effective corporate development plan to meet or exceed CNF’s annual financial and strategic goals.

The Development Manager will embrace and build on CNF’s culture of philanthropy working with the Director of Development and the executive team.

Essential Accountabilities

·       In partner with CNF leadership, designs and executes the strategy related to CNF’s Corporate Advisory Board and program sponsorships, including identifying, cultivating, and developing leads and prospects, drafting and seeking approval for proposals, tracking progress, closing commitments, and providing account management.

·       Manages all aspects of corporate partnership deliverable tracking and execution.

·       Works across CNF to conceptualize and develop sponsorship packages and execute revenue generating opportunities for the organization.

·       Provides timely responses to prospects and existing partner requests and works in a consultative manner with partners to deepen relationship with CNF.

·       Stays current on corporate social responsibility trends/best practices and industry giving trends, while also guiding the team to use those insights with corporate partnerships.

·       Develops and delivers creative and powerful presentations and proposals for corporate partnership opportunities; when appropriate, ensure organizational leadership involved in pitch are briefed and prepared for meetings.

·       Ensures all commitments, contributions, information, interactions, and donor communications are accurately entered in CRM.

·       Collaborates with key stakeholders (including Marketing & Communications firm, as well as digital and design consultants) to determine and deliver content based on foundation’s key messages, activities, and partnerships specific to fundraising activities.

·       Acts as an external ambassador for the organization, always staying current with CNF priorities and engagement opportunities that can bring prospects closer to our work.

·       Oversees the Corporate Advisory Board, including tracking, new member onboarding, meeting planning and execution, speaker selection, satisfaction surveys, upgrading/renewing members, scheduling, etc.

Qualifications

Education:

·       Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public administration, fundraising, philanthropic studies, non-profit management, or similar area preferred.

·       Equivalent combination of years of additional experience beyond the minimum requirement and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.

Experience:

·       Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of successful fund development experience, or relevant work experience in business development, but preferably with a non-profit organization.

·       Prior corporate philanthropy, patient advocacy, CSR, and/or grantmaking experience a plus

·       Three or more years of successful experience in business development or sales at an organization will be considered comparable to nonprofit development experience.

·       Proven to be highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and most energized in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment.

·       Advanced computer literacy in database management, Microsoft Office, and donor/fundraising software (such as eTapestry or Raisers Edge) or comparable customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

·       Experience presenting visual data using dashboards, PowerPoint.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·       Experience establishing, building, and maintaining relationships - from online engagement to major donors, colleagues, and Board Members. Business development experience is considered comparable.

·       Demonstrated excellence with supervising, motivating, and working within a diverse team

·       Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills are required.

·       Excellent emotional intelligence.

·       Experience working effectively with executive level staff, Board's, and busy/high wealth individuals.

·       Ability to successfully manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously is required.

·       Strong attention to detail is required.

·       Understanding and respect for confidential information and ability to maintain confidentiality is required.

·       Strong listening skills are required.

 

Additional Position Information

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Travel Requirements: Some travel required – approximately 25%. Ability to legally travel outside of the United States required.

Location: Lexington, KY or Remote

Work Schedule Expectations: Occasional evening and weekends required.
