Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment, the Senior Associate Director of Enrollment is responsible for driving the implementation of recruitment strategies, enhancing student engagement, and meeting annual enrollment goals for all degree programs. This role is pivotal in expanding the university’s student body by overseeing all recruitment activities and managing outreach. The Senior Associate Director of Enrollment will work closely with the Senior Director of Enrollment and closely with cross-functional teams to implement targeted recruitment initiatives, analyze enrollment data, and ensure that the university’s programs remain competitive in an evolving higher education landscape.

 

This is an exempt, full-time position located in Fremont, CA, with eligibility for a hybrid schedule.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-quality students.
  • Monitor and assess trends in undergraduate and graduate education to meet annual enrollment goals.
  • Compile and analyze various reports on demographic trends, the health of the applicant funnel, yield rates, and other relevant information to support data-informed decisions regarding recruiting and admissions. 
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Enrollment to establish and achieve annual enrollment goals.
  • Manage and oversee all recruitment and yield events, including campus visits, virtual sessions, and fairs.
  • Work with the marketing team to tailor recruitment materials, drip-campaigns, and promotional items. 
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Enrollment to ensure compliance with all federal, state, organizational, and institutional policies and procedures in the admission of students.
  • Cultivate relationships with academic institutions, professional organizations, and industry partners.
  • Manage the review and assessment of all undergraduate and graduate applications and serve as a primary or secondary reader and make final admission decisions.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track engagement and streamline the enrollment process.
  • Ensure recruitment efforts reflect the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support student enrollment efforts. 
  • Hire, train, mentor, and supervise enrollment staff.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in undergraduate, graduate or online enrollment management, recruitment, or admissions, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in recruitment and achieving enrollment goals, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Proven experience in leading teams or projects, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce and other CRM or SIS systems (e.g.,Slate, Ellucian, etc.) and other enrollment-related technology tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and the ability to interpret enrollment trends, create reports, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region for recruitment activities, including campus visits, fairs, and networking events.
  • Work evenings and weekends as required to accommodate recruitment events and prospective student schedules.
  • A valid driver’s license and personal automobile are required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence prospective students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks  and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including prospective students and their families, alums, faculty, and external partners such as academic institutions and professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of undergraduate and graduate admissions processes, including application review, decision-making, and financial aid.
  • Familiarity with higher education marketing strategies, including digital marketing, recruitment events, yield initiatives,and student engagement.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and experience in fostering inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Knowledge of higher education trends, especially related to undergraduate education, and the ability to adapt strategies based on evolving market conditions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
  • Ability to provide backup coverage for Enrollment Counselor travel as needed.
  • Ability to create seamless experiences for prospective students by guiding them through the entire enrollment journey with responsiveness, transparency, and personalized support.
  • Experience developing and implementing service-oriented enrollment processes that prioritize the needs and expectations of applicants while aligning with institutional goals.
  • Commitment to a high-touch service model ensuring an excellent applicant, student, and partnership experience.

  • Physical demands include lifting limits (20 lbs), bending, sitting, driving, and occasionally standing for long periods.
