Course: FIN501 Financial Management course, Fridays from 11:30 am -2:20 pm.

 

Responsibilities

  • The TA must schedule 2 TA office hours every week for students 

  • If there are two TAs for one course, together they must have 3 TA office hours scheduled every week

  • The TA will attend the class s/he is assisting in

  • The TA may be required to assist in more than one class

  • The TA can provide in-class assistance 

  • The TA can grade tests and quizzes but not midterm and finals. 

  • The TA can conduct research related to the course

  • The TA will proctor for exams

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

TA/ Proctoring Guidelines:

  • Classroom observation 

  • Immediately reporting incidences of cheating to the instructor

  • Implementing preventative measures to stop inappropriate behaviors

*Proctors are NOT permitted to confront students during exams for any reason

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree in a related field in business.

  • Enrollment in a Graduate Program: Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s program at SFSU.

  • Relevant Coursework: Depending on the subject area, some positions may require specific undergraduate courses or knowledge in the subject being taught.

Timesheets & Pay Dates:

  • A time sheet must be submitted semi-monthly.  All timesheets will be submitted on the 1st and 16th of each month. Timesheets submitted on the 16th cover the first part of the month. (days 1 to 15). Time sheets submitted on the 1st cover the second part of the month. (days 16 to end of month). To access and submit your timesheet, please click on the link below. If you submit your timesheet late, it will be processed and paid for in the next pay period.

  • It is your responsibility to monitor your own work hours each week via TriNet.

  • SFBU is on a semi-monthly payroll schedule. Paychecks are generally available on the 10th and 26th of every month and can be picked up in the Administration Building.  The check generated on the 26th of the month covers the first pay period of the month (days 1 to 15).  The check generated on the 10th covers the second pay period of the previous month (days 16 through the end of the month).

Student Policies:

  • The TA shall not work more than 8 hours in one workday

  • The TA shall not work 7 consecutive days in one workweek

  • The TA shall not work more than 20 hours in one workweek

  • A violation of any of these policies may result in termination of your student status
