At DiCE Molecules, we design and develop innovative therapies in immunology for patients with debilitating disease. Seeking to create a future where convenient oral medicines with biologic-like efficacy are available to patients with serious medical conditions, we are developing oral alternatives to medicines currently limited to injectable forms.

 

Role Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated computational chemist to join our team of dedicated drug hunters. The ideal candidate will be experienced in computer aided drug design and applying a wide range of molecular modeling techniques for the purpose of advancing drug discovery projects at various stages.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Working cross-collaboratively with medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, DMPK, and new target discovery as a team member to identify tractable drug discovery starting points and advancing molecules through lead optimization toward program goals

·        Triage and prioritize hits from various screening efforts

·        Design and implement computational strategies to guide the medicinal chemistry teams efforts to optimize potency, selectivity, and DMPK properties for discovery of oral medicines

·        Generate machine learning models to predict experimental results critical to prioritizing synthetic efforts

·        Preparation of reference documentation describing computational experiments, outcomes, and key conclusions

 

Preferred Experience and Education:

·        Degree in Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related field

·        PhD with 2-6 yrs of industry experience

·        MS with  8-15 yrs of industry experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

·        Independent scientist with experience working as part of a cross-collaborative team

·        Track record of computational contributions in Hit ID, Hit to Lead, and Lead Optimization

·        Expert knowledge of computational chemistry and cheminformatics methods and software (e.g. Dotmatics, Schrodinger, etc…).

·        Experience building machine learning models

·        Programming proficiency using Python, SQL, Java, R is a plus

·        Strong organizational and time-management skills

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills

·        Team player; comfortable and effective in a cross-collaborative research environment

 


The pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including, experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This range is for the Bay Area, California location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.
