Your Impact At Kinnate
We are seeking a Clinical Development Leader at the Senior Director / Executive Director level who will provide strategic and tactical cross-functional leadership to one or more of our Development teams.
Reporting to Kinnate’s Vice President Strategy & Portfolio Management, the Development Leader will advance Kinnate’s compounds, as single agents or in rational combinations, into clinical trials of cancer patients with a range of solid tumors. The successful candidate will have a passion for novel science, an affinity for strategic thinking, an aptitude for looking beyond the day-to-day execution, and a record of leading early-stage and mid-stage clinical programs to critical milestones.
The Development Lead will:
Responsibilities
- Oversees drug development programs from critical pre-FIH stage gates through planning and executing FIH trials to advanced clinical development stages
- Leads cross-functional Development Team(s) composed representatives from multiple functions, including: Clinical/Medical, Clinical Operations, Project Management, Translational Research, Non-clinical development, Biometrics, Regulatory, CMC
- Endorses and integrates line function strategies into a consolidated Development strategy
- Is accountable for ensuring that the development programs are managed appropriately per budget and deliver according to timelines agreed upon with company leadership.
- Is accountable for ensuring that the necessary resources are available to the projects to support their success
- Is accountable for the quality of deliverables to external authorities.
- Promotes a culture of innovation within Development Teams to bring forward creative development plans that maximize the potential of the development candidate.
- Leverages functional line expertise and functional leadership to achieve the team goals
- Acts as point of contact and project representative to governance and other decision-making bodies, including information dissemination and the resolution of critical project issues
- Serves as the Development champion by negotiating and influencing key internal stakeholders
- Creates a motivated, committed and engaged development team
- Models and expects effective team behavior to achieve the project goals
- Serves as a coach / mentor to Development Team members
- Ensures the Development Team adheres to relevant GXP requirements and other applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
Qualifications
Candidates with extensive experience in oncology drug development with the following qualifications and skills:
- Post-graduate degree such as PhD, MD, MS, MBA DVM, Pharm D preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant post graduate experience in the biopharmaceutical industry having successfully executed major components of development programs to achieve critical milestones and successfully navigate organizational stage gates
- Strong understanding of all the elements of oncology drug development including pre-clinical and clinical programs and experience in their design and execution.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully building, leading and managing high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Knowledgeable of the commercial, competitive landscape and regulatory issues that drive drug development projects
- Demonstrated experienced in managing budgets and demonstrated fiscal responsibility
- Demonstrated experience working in complex and rapidly moving matrixed environments in biopharmaceutical companies

The salary reasonably expected to be paid for this role is $239,290 - $298,342. The actual compensation and seniority level for this position will be determined based on relevant experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus and equity awards.
