Your Impact at Kinnate                                             

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the company’s operations. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will be a generalist who can develop and support the company’s day-to-day accounting functions. Kinnate operates under a hybrid model: The majority of your time will be working remotely, with time spent at either our San Diego or San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

·        Assist with day-to-day general accounting

·        Responsible for managing accruals process with Assistant Controller and the finance team

·        Assist with PO process ensuring appropriate levels of authorization

·        Assist AP team as needed for timely and accurate processing

·        Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations

·        Provide support for year-end audit and quarterly reviews

·        Assist with the preparation of the company’s SEC filings, including the company’s 10-K, 10-Q and certain 8-K filings

·        Assist with accounting for operations at foreign subsidiaries, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations

·        Work with the accounting team and our external consulting firm on the internal control (SOX) function, including maintaining and updating documentation of the company’s internal control environment and related processes and procedures

·        Assist with implementation of internal controls and provides recommendations for improvements in processes as needed

The Right Stuff

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred

·        Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience, preferably at a publicly traded biotech company

·        Solid understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting

·        Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills

·        Excellent communication skills and ability to develop relationships within and outside the finance team

·        Ability to work remotely and effectively interact with dispersed set of colleagues and consultants

·        Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise

·        Engaged in the mission of Kinnate Biopharma and acting with flexibility and integrity.

·        Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and the Office Suite
