Your Impact at Kinnate

We are seeking a Finance Manager to support the company’s operations. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Finance Manager will be a generalist who can develop and support the company’s financial processes and systems, and who can partner with the R&D team and the company’s leadership to provide guidance and insight.

Kinnate operates under a hybrid model: The majority of your time will be working remotely, with time spent at either our San Diego or San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

·        Perform all FP&A functions, including annual budgeting and forecast updates, estimates, and variance analysis for management, departments, and projects while maintaining a high-level understanding of the business’ direction, key changes, needs.

·        Review Purchase Orders for completeness, including reviews of contracts, SOWs and change orders.

·        Monitor and communicate spend/expense recognition against open purchase orders.

·        Help generate research and G&A expense accruals.

·        Assist with management reporting.

·        Support accounting staff during internal control testing and financial audits.

·        Assist with SOX compliance and audits.

·        Participate in the implementation and maintenance of accounting and financial planning systems and other technology platforms and improvements.

·        Produce insightful reports that can be shared with management.

·        Ensure that the respective activities are operated in a highly controlled manner with respect to existing Compliance & Policies procedures.

·        Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required; advanced degree or training a plus, (CPA, MBA, Certificates).

·        A minimum of 6 years of biotech industry experience

·        Intermediate to advanced software skills. (NetSuite; FPA Planning Software, like Adaptive, Planful, Anaplan; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

·        Operates with a high level of accuracy and shows strong attention to detail

·        Has good organizational skills and the ability to deal well with ambiguity

·        Ability to exercise good judgement

·        Excellent communication skills and ability to develop relationships within and outside the finance team

·        Ability to work remotely and effectively interact with dispersed set of colleagues and consultants

·        Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise
