Your impact at Kinnate
As the VP of Strategy and Portfolio Management, you will lead
the development of an integrated R&D strategy and its translation into an
optimized product portfolio.
Your scope will extend from careful strategic management of
the existing portfolio to development of future programs and external
partnerships – while ensuring close alignment with Kinnate’s thematic focus and
growth objectives.
As an integral member of the senior leadership team, you
will report to the CMO and work extensively with the CMO, CEO, CSO and other
company leaders in R&D, BD and Finance.
Your contributions will be highly impactful with Kinnate’s executive leadership and Board of Directors and external key opinion leaders including Kinnate’s world-renowned scientific advisory board.
You will directly manage Kinnate’s portfolio governance and
ensure real-time visibility of Product-Level development plans, goals and
milestones, risks and mitigations – while driving clarity for strategic
decision making and balancing complex portfolio trade-offs.
You will directly manage and develop Kinnate’s Product
Development Leads and a growing project management organization.
New oncology therapy breakthroughs await your creative
spirit and “roll-up your sleeves” approach because #patients are waiting.
The Right Stuff
- You have a minimum of 15 years of product and portfolio or franchise management experience in the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industry – ideally with a strong oncology drug development focus
- You possess expert level knowledge in the overall pharmaceutical drug development process, from preclinical through post-marketing
- You have an advanced degree (Master’ degree, PhD or MD) or MBA qualification with a strong basic sciences background (e.g. BS)
- You may have healthcare-focused private equity, consulting or investment banking experience
- You
have a blend of strategic acumen and execution-oriented experience
- You understand relationships are key and have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated by a track record of highly effective partnering with key functional area leaders
- You bring organization, focus and clarity - despite the challenges of uncertainty and ambiguity or where a lack of data confounds decision-making You are a recognized leader; you take pride in mentoring and supporting the careers of others
- You drive inclusion throughout the organization and your collaborative approach makes teams thrive when working with you

Prior to that, we closed three significant venture capital financings, including our $98M Series C round in July and August 2020 and our $74.5M Series B round in December 2019.
