Job Description:
The packaging Operator includes the ability to sustain packaging bags into cases at a rate equal to 45 bags per min with auto case feeding and 30 bags per minute with self-forming cases.
· Understand and operate the case erecting machinery including feeding, change over and glue filling.
· Operate and monitor the auto taper including changing rolls and adjusting position of tape heads.
· Ability to pack bags in a case at a rate of 45 bags per minute on a repetitive basis.
· Understand the packing process and control of quality and integrity of the finished product.
· Ability to use the indexing conveyor switch to enable rotation within the hand packing station.
· Ability to properly clean the production line including the scales, belting and periphery equipment.
· Responsible for the line efficiency related to their work area.
· Ensure the packaging line is in a “Pull” state which keeps the packaging equipment functioning at a high level. Achieving output of 4 pallets per hour.
· Ensure all packages and in the optimal consumer state and support documentation as needed.
· Work within a team environment and help take responsibility for the efficiency of the operation.
· Personnel must abide by all company policies and procedures.
· All other duties assigned at management’s discretion.
Position Qualifications:
· Have the ability to understand and abide by all quality procedures and checks.
· Ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to handle up to 4 pound bags repetitively.
· Must understand basic mathematics.
· Stand and work on feet for a long period of time.
Environmental Conditions:
· Cold conditions with temperatures often averaging 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
· Floor is hard surface for cart mobility and occasionally slippery.
· Hearing protection required as the noise level often exceeds 80 Decibels.
