Job Description:

Operator of the packaging Machines, including checking the metal detector, verifying quality seals, and weight parameters.  Must be able to operate Scales and Baggers.

Key Responsibilities:

  

·       Understand and operate the filling machinery including machine sanitation,  rinsing, transport, coding, and quality checks.

·       Understand and operate the Vertical Form Fill Seal Bagger post filling to ensure the proper seals and product integrity.

·       Understand the filling process (scales) and control of weights and measures.

·       Ability to fully complete and understand the required paperwork needed to comply with regulatory requirements.

·       Ability and responsible for performing quality and operational checks of the finished products to ensure quality integrity. 

·       Responsible for the periodic testing during production and supporting documentation of quality assurance testing.

·       Responsible for documenting and keeping accurate records of operational issues.

·       Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the equipment.

·       Responsible for the daily checks of the filling machinery and supporting equipment.

·       Responsible for the line efficiency related to their work area.  Ensuring approximately 4 pallets per hour output.

·       Ensure minimal scrap due to error.  This includes reworking product to minimize yield loss.

·       Personnel must abide by all company policies and procedures.

·       Work within a team environment and help take responsibility for the efficiency of the operation.

·       All other duties assigned at management’s discretion.

 

Position Qualifications:

·       Have the ability to understand and abide by all quality procedures and checks.

·       Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.

·       Must understand basic mathematics.

·       Must have the ability to read and comprehend procedures.

·       Stand and work on feet for a long period of time.

 

Environmental Conditions:

·       Cold conditions with temperatures often 35 degrees on constant basis.

·       Floor is hard surface for cart mobility and occasionally slippery.

·       Hearing protection required as the noise level often exceeds 80 Decibels.
