About the Company:

The Exactly Right podcast network provides a platform for bold, creative voices to bring to life provocative, entertaining and relatable stories for audiences everywhere. Created by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, hosts of the hit podcast “My Favorite Murder,” in partnership with podcast industry leader Stitcher, the Exactly Right roster of podcasts covers a variety of topics and voices, serving the highly engaged listenership of “My Favorite Murder” and beyond. 

This role will serve as the producer for all elements of pre-production, production, and distribution of a true crime/comedy podcast. This includes managing and producing content for publication across all platforms, assisting with live streaming and in person events, managing podcast related business, as well as overseeing all aspects of audio production. 

This position reports directly to the VP of Production and Operations.

Job Duties Include:

  • Manage the production for podcast recordings, including scheduling, overseeing research contributors, recording sessions, post-production, ad spots, publication and show promotion.
  • Contribute fresh ideas to keep content and promotions exciting and innovative, including suggestion of themes, stories, and content for upcoming episodes, social media and newsletters.
  • Communicate regularly and in a timely manner with podcast hosts, senior level producers, editors and team leaders throughout the production process to help all stakeholders and projects meet their full potential.
  • Oversee podcast team, including in-house and freelance staff.
  • Quality check episodes to ensure they meet network standards and pass legal clearances.
  • Help with development and production of live events, video content, merchandising, branded integrations, and other derivatives associated with the podcast, including creative briefs, recruiting producer and guest talent, and managing third party participant communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third party partners, including project management, marketing, operations, legal, revenue and licensing.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a producer required and 2-3 years experience working with podcasts or broadcasts preferred. Television and film experience is desired.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about podcasting, true crime and comedy entertainment, with ideas for how to innovate and break the mold.
  • Deep and significant experience producing podcasts at a senior level.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • At least three years of experience working with high level talent.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to maintain a high attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt content strategy within digital formats and new technologies.
  • Low ego, solutions-oriented person adept at managing multiple stakeholders, cultural nuances and personalities, including celebrity talent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and an ease with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, currently working remotely
  • Often required to work weekend and/or non-standard hours     
  • Minimal travel may be required
