The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Supply Chain team related to the sourcing of new suppliers. Specific tasks are but are not limited to, the request for proposal, negotiation of price/quantity/lead time, and performing quote comparisons. This position will work in tandem with Production Planning, Purchasing, and Warehousing teams to meet the goals of Andelyn. A successful candidate needs to meet the responsibilities and requirements below.

Under the guidance and direction of the Supply Chain Manager, essential functions of the Sourcing Specialist:

  • Submit a request for proposal (RFP) to suppliers
  • Negotiate price, quantity, and lead time with suppliers resulting in revised/new quotes for existing and new suppliers
  • Consult with internal teams to ensure supplier contracts relating to product procurement are in place and aligned with negotiation
  • Generate quote comparisons that contribute to internal supplier selection based on quotes to improve company spending and outsourcing
  • Identify alternate suppliers and maintain an active list of business-critical materials
  • Plan and implement strategic sourcing solutions
  • Track past due purchase orders and drive timely delivery
  • Provide support to other Purchasing Department roles as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience 
  • Proven experience in procurement and sourcing processes/methodologies
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Sound time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A keen eye for details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook
