Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Operations Finance will work alongside the department leadership in order to drive business performance.  This individual will have responsibility for analyzing the department, business line and company financial performance; identifying issues and driving actions to address any gaps.  The Director of Operations Finance will lead all financial forecasting, analytics, as well as work closely with the Director of Accounting on the annual budget process. 

The role requires experience in a progressive manufacturing environment, excellent communication skills, demanding financial analysis & modeling, an ability to illustrate complex problems in a simple manner to non-financial business partners, and the ability to present at all levels of the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly forecasts across all business lines and departments on GAAP basis.  This includes current data, previous quarter/year information, budget to actual and forecast, capital expenditure, and headcount status.
  • Ability to articulate financial performance across organization, with a focus on operational drivers and resulting impact
  • Manage reporting requirements under credit agreement and shareholder documents
  • Drive business process improvement to increase efficiency, reduce cost and meet organizational goals
  • Develop department/business line operational finance leadership capabilities, and drive performance management globally
  • Highly competent in decision analysis, sensitivity and variance analysis
  • Build detailed product costing process and update standards according to GAAP
  • Able to summarize and explain complex financial data in an understandable manner   
  • Able to influence those at various levels within the organization
  • Assist Executive Leadership in the preparation of five year strategic plan. 
  • Help play a challenge role in evaluating the financial performance of global and business unit operations and in identifying opportunities for improved profitability
  • Evaluation of the financial impact of potential buy/build scenarios, global business initiatives and operational changes
  • Summarize financial performance and help prepare/shape board of directors meeting materials
  • Monitor and summarize progress against global Capital budget, including ROI analyses
  • Evaluate short and long-term financial forecasts, including the related impact on cash, financial covenants, and recommend actions to optimize
  • Support accounting team with month end closing responsibilities, including responsibilities over inventory valuation and review, general ledger reconciliation and transactions review
  • Support the annual audit process as needed



Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with at least ten (10) years of increased management responsibilities
  • Masters or MBA preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing and service related industries, and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to understand business transactions and determine appropriate accounting action in accordance with GAAP
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, not required
  • CPA or CMA preferred



Requirements:

  • Over 10 year of FP&A and accounting/finance experience with increasing responsibilities and complexities in a progressive manufacturing environment
  • Over 5 years of financial leadership experience supporting an operational or business unit leader
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong business acumen
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills a must
  • Ability to deliver results in a multi-task and deadline intensive environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
