We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and mentoring a team of BI developers to design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions that meet our various organizational and client needs.

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of BI developers to deliver business intelligence solutions that meet customer, client, and organizational needs.

Collaborate with cross-functional groups, such as UX designers, to establish business needs, metrics, and generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations with a similar UX as the main apps.

Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.

Perform data analysis, data profiling, and data modeling to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Drive enforcement of information governance policies related to data architecture and data business practices.

Develop, maintain, and optimize data warehouses and data marts to support reporting and analytics (Snowflake Data Warehouse or similar preferred)

Collaborate with business stakeholders, including the Customer Success team and sales, to provide insights, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making. Aid in compiling and delivering findings on project and pilot success measures.

Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the BI space and provide recommendations for improvements.

Provide leadership and mentorship to augmented and remote development staff.

Prioritize, plan, and manage BI staff workloads.

Develop and maintain Tableau server infrastructure, including user security, maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimization.

Develop and maintain Tableau workbooks, dashboards, and visualizations that are scalable, efficient, and meet business requirements.

Work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for Tableau automation and self-service BI solutions.

Collaborate with other BI developers to ensure consistent use of best practices, design patterns, and development standards across the organization.

Define, develop and maintain IoT event streams into the data warehouse, such as from Azure Event Hub or Kafka.

Use data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and communicate findings to various stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

Creation of curated cross-departmental executive/strategic dashboards and KPI one-pagers (with drill-down as desired). Frequent presentation of these visuals with supporting evidence to organizational leadership.

Manage new and existing data-related vendor relationships. Ensure vendor solution scope and service level agreements are met.

Ability to tell stories and find 'bits of truth' via deep data analysis (using both normalized and denormalized/NoSQL data structures)

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Minimum of 7 years of experience in business intelligence development, data warehousing, and data modeling

Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading a team of BI developers

Strong experience with ETL tools, such as SSIS, Talend, or Informatica. Some experience with MDM platforms is a plus.

Strong experience with SQL, data profiling, and data quality tools

Strong experience with reporting and visualization tools, such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI, or QlikView

Strong experience with data warehousing concepts, such as star schema, snowflake schema, and slowly changing dimensions

Experience defining and consuming IoT event streams

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic SMB environment

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

In addition, previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred, particularly around IoT devices.

Experience working with and leading third-party partners to accelerate business intelligence initiatives

Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
