Summary

 

The GL Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial areas of responsibility in accordance to GAAP and compliance to internal policies.  This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Requires ability to problem solve independently (with little supervision)
  • College degree with a BS in Accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting
  • Strong/current knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience in Full Cycle Bookkeeping (Payroll, AP, AR, GL, Cash)
  • Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Experience in Intercompany transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of general ledger account balances and review of transaction activity to insure compliance with company policies and GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals/adjustments for period-end closing
  • Review of payroll activity and preparation of journal entries
  • Manage fixed assets

·         Cash reconciliation

·         Analyze and assist with Accounts Payables to ensure transactions arefied properly  and reported timely

·         Establish and maintain solid working relationships with other departments to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate

·         Assist with external audit by preparing and reviewing audit schedules

·         Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the control environment

·         Perform Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
