The Role:

Torticity is looking for a Legal Specialist with strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills who will be highly motivated, accountable, and self-directed. This critical position includes a variety of quality control tasks including case and document review. The ideal candidate will excel at maintaining high quality standards by inspecting the accuracy of data and records, while ensuring that review agents uphold criteria and follow the assigned tasks and processes.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Perform detailed review of data and records, ensuring that established quality standards are met or exceeded

• Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy across each function

• Analyze case reviews, investigate missing information, and document next steps

• Prepare Plaintiff Fact Sheets

• Extensive interaction with appropriate parties

• Review medical records

• Track and report errors and inconsistencies

• Maintain audit log and communicate results with Operations Manager

• Recommend cases for approval or discharge

• Assist the Quality Control Manager with developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and procedures

• Continually evaluate processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvement

• Maintain a confidential, HIPAA compliant environment


Experience/Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years law firm experience preferably as a Paralegal or Legal Intern while in Law School

• Specific experience with the review and understanding of the following types of medical records: Oncology Consultations, Treatment Records, Retail Pharmacy Records, Pathology Reports, Diagnostic Tests, Operative Reports and hospital records preferred

• Experience in Mass Tort, Personal Injury or Medical Malpractice law is preferred

• Preparation of Plaintiff Fact Sheets

• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

• Highly self-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with confidential and sensitive information

• Acute attention to detail

• Strong critical thinking and research skills

• Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance

• Flexibility to pivot to different projects with little notice

• Previous legal experience in plaintiff product liability, defective drugs, or personal injury is a plus

• Medical record review and chronology drafting experience is preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft office tools and Adobe Acrobat

• Knowledge of Spanish language is a plus

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
