Job Summary
The Manager of Personal Injury Operations & Performance is responsible for driving operational excellence across the Personal Injury practice by leveraging data, analytics, and process optimization to improve performance, scalability, and client outcomes. This role owns the connection between operational data and execution, turning metrics, trends, and insights into clear priorities and measurable operational improvements.
Partnering closely with legal leadership, operations teams, and senior executives, this role leads cross-functional initiatives, builds reporting and performance frameworks, and ensures that data is actively used to guide decision-making across the personal injury operation.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Execution
- Oversee and continuously improve operational workflows from intake through settlement, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
- Lead operational functions including case management, medical record retrieval and review, documentation workflows, lien resolution, and settlement operations.
- Ensure all operational processes support compliance with applicable regulations, ethical standards, and HIPAA requirements.
Data Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Define, develop, and own key operational and case performance metrics across the personal injury lifecycle.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reporting to provide real-time visibility into caseloads, cycle times, throughput, quality, and outcomes.
- Analyze trends, identify risks and opportunities, and synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Establish regular performance review rhythms with leadership to track progress, surface issues, and drive accountability.
Process Improvement & Project Management
- Use data and performance insights to identify bottlenecks, root causes, and operational gaps.
- Lead the design, documentation, and implementation of scalable process improvements and standard operating procedures.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of cross-functional operational initiatives, ensuring timelines, ownership, and measurable impact.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to legal leadership and senior operations leaders by providing data-backed recommendations.
- Act as a connective leader between legal, operations, technology, and business teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Support leadership with materials, insights, and recommendations for operational planning and prioritization.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop operational team members with a strong emphasis on data literacy and performance ownership.
- Establish clear expectations, metrics, and feedback loops tied to operational goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or JD preferred.
- 6–8+ years of experience in personal injury law firm operations, legal operations, or a related environment with significant exposure to analytics and reporting.
- Proven experience using data and metrics to drive operational decisions and improvements.
- Strong project and program management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to design and optimize operational workflows using data-driven insights.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, and executive-facing materials.
- Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and case management systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for diverse audiences.

💰 Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 USD
