Southwest Value Partners (SWVP), a privately held real estate investment company, is seeking a talented Special Events Manager to join its Operations Team. SWVP invests in institutional quality real estate in growth markets throughout the United States. SWVP has a disciplined and high energy approach to asset acquisition, operating execution, value creation, asset disposition, and development.

The Special Events Manager is responsible for the on-site execution of events and serves as the primary point of contact during live events to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction. This hands-on role requires real-time coordination with internal departments, external vendors, facility managers, production teams, and logistics personnel, while remaining flexible and responsive to changing circumstances to ensure successful execution.

The environment at SWVP is fast-paced and dynamic, and the Special Events Manager needs to work well both independently and in a group setting. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Event Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-site lead during Pinnacle events, providing direction and oversight to staff, vendors, and venue personnel to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor operators and venue staff during events; address concerns, resolve issues, and make real-time decisions to uphold the quality and integrity of the event.

  • Collaborate with production teams, facility managers, security, audiovisual technicians, and loading dock staff to ensure all event elements are coordinated and delivered as scheduled.

  • Conduct pre-event walkthroughs and briefings with internal and external stakeholders to confirm readiness and address last-minute adjustments.

  • Maintain active communication with all departments during events to troubleshoot and escalate issues as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience.

  • Support the setup and breakdown of event components, including signage, registration, technical equipment, and décor, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and event layouts.

  • Assist with post-event evaluations, debriefs, and reporting to inform continuous improvement in event planning and execution.

  • Provide on-call support during assigned event shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the event schedule.

  • Ensure all event activities comply with organizational policies, venue regulations, and relevant safety and risk management protocols.

  • Maintain a strong on-site presence, exhibiting professionalism, problem-solving, and customer service excellence throughout the event lifecycle.

  • Represent Nashville Yards in meetings, events, and industry associations, promoting the development and enhancing its reputation as a premier destination in Nashville.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Event Management or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event coordination or production, with a focus on live/on-site event management (e.g., festivals, car shows, sports and live entertainment)
  • Experience working with venues, vendors, and facility teams in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of event production logistics, vendor coordination, and facility operations, including local regulations and permitting requirements for public events.
  • Skilled at navigating high-pressure situations with composure, sound judgment, and a focus on timely resolution.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, clients, vendors, and venue personnel.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed during event setup and breakdown.
  • Proficient with MS office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, accurate, reliable and flexible.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with a diverse group of business individuals within the company, and interface confidently with people outside the company.

Compensation:
Salary plus bonus    

Schedule: Hours are event-driven and will vary as needed; availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
