Position:

 

ACELYRIN is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting - SOX & Technical Accounting who will support the growth of the company and be responsible for the SEC reporting, managing the technical accounting research and drive the implementation of new and relevant accounting standards.  This position will also be responsible for managing all SOX related activities and the external SOX team.  The Dr. of SEC Reporting - SOX & Technical Accounting will report to the VP of Accounting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Direct and manage the SEC reporting processes
  • Prepare and file the Company’s SEC documents (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and registration statements) as well as any other SEC filings
  • Partner with critical stakeholders to drive SOX program management functions, including the planning and scoping for testing, drafting, and issuing of all relevant SOX policies and procedures
  • Responsible for providing guidance and being the subject matter expert in technical accounting applicable to the Company’s business needs
  • Carry out research, implementation, and documentation for the adoption of new standards
  • Assist with the development of financial policies surrounding technical accounting requirements and internal control requirements
  • Work with internal and external teams to deliver critical milestones

 

 

Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements

  • CPA license, Big 4 and working for a public company required
  • At least five (5) years SEC experience
  • Solid experience in SOX compliance to include risk assessment, design, implementation, and the evaluation of deficiencies
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting principles and regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience handling all aspects of SEC reporting principles and regulations
  • Experience with NetSuite desired
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working with fast growing companies.
  • Proficient in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines in a fast-changing and fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional organization and time management skills, writing, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
