Vice President of Finance


This is a Vice President level position responsible for all of the company’s financial and administration operations and fulfilling the critical financial management duties within the organization. As a member of the senior executive team, this position will help shape the company’s overall vision and business plans, and assist the rest of the management team in any way to ensure that the company successfully executes its plans. The position will provide overall leadership in financial matters, including budgeting, planning, systems integration and reporting.  LiquidSpace should be viewed by our investors, customers, and employees as having finance & reporting operations that are streamlined and high-quality. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is accountable daily to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.

  • Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.

  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.

  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions. Includes international financial reporting and compliance.  

  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

  • Contracts management – Review all contracts with customers and vendors. Ensure consistency and compliance with company policies. 

  • Reporting and tax compliance: Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial information for the executive staff and the Board of Directors.  Ensure timely reporting of all taxes with the appropriate authorities. 

  • Manage all individuals and firms associated with finance operations.

  • Manage all administrative matters related to the LiquidSpace relationship with Trinet for payroll execution, company policies, and benefit planning.  Work with the CEO and COO on all long term compensation planning, modeling, and employee communication.

  • Manage all administrative matters related to equity compensation managed through Carta.


Desired Experience:

  • BS, CPA, MBA desired.  

  • Minimum experience 10+ years in finance within a software / technology organization;  software as a service experience highly desirable

  • Proven management skills.  

  • Ability to see the big picture and anticipate business issues.  

  • Experience guiding and advising on international expansion strategies. 

  • Ability to engage and participate with executive team and BOD for funding, budgeting and financial reporting 

  • Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers, including software license agreements, purchase agreements, and other business agreements.  

  • Demonstrated organizational agility - ability to build strong, sustainable professional relationships internally at all levels of the organization.
