Key responsibilities:
Working cross-functionally with scientists and engineers to transition manual protocols in next generation sequencing (NGS) to automated procedures.
Conducting experimental design, verification and validation, QC development, and data analysis of automated workflows.
Routinely operating liquid handling instruments and implementing performance monitoring and maintenance.
Identifying instrument performance issues related to integration of sample preparation, assays and mechanical modules, and providing recommendations, solutions, and test plans for resolution.
Coordinating both internal and external stakeholders for development timelines, procurement, maintenance, upgrades, repairs and troubleshooting.
Continually optimizing the performance of existing liquid handling programs based on data and end-user requirements.
Preparing training materials and conducting technical transfer and training as relevant.
To be a good fit for this role, you would have:
A PhD in a relevant field Science or Engineering or Master’s with 3 years of relevant work experience.
Relevant working experience with NGS assays and liquid handling robotics platforms.
Strong technical understanding of genetic analysis tools, workflows, and chemistry in NGS assays.
Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. IVD, LDT).
Experience developing laboratory processes from conceptualization to process validation and implementation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A positive mindset and the ability to lead and work with others even when the going gets tough.
Exceptional attention to detail in the monitoring of quality data and troubleshooting of issues.
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple priorities and timelines.
