The Position 

 

CDAREVON is recruiting for the position of Settlements Analyst, Asset Management, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century.  

 

Job Description 

 

The Settlements Analyst, Asset Management will be responsible for settling commodity transactions for various wind, and solar projects which involves resolving data issues and communicating with counterparties and internal stakeholders. The role requires detailed analysis and interpretation of electricity generation allocations and algorithms and the ability to understand contracts and complex contractual pricing formulas. The role will be part of the Commercial Asset Management team and will report directly to the Senior Manager of Asset Management. The responsibilities of a Settlements Analyst, Asset Management include but not limited to: 

·         Gather, analyze, and validate ISO/RTO settlement data. Develop and provide daily, weekly, and monthly settlement reports and perform analysis/reconciliation of ISO settlement data and shadow settlements. 

·         Provide support in the settlement of all revenue agreements and power purchase agreements including resolution of disputes, interacting with Asset Managers to obtain concurrence of contractual interpretations, establishing recommendations and conclusions based on analysis of complex data and monitoring and providing technical direction to aid in settling disputes. 

·         Perform analytical research to determine the cause of any settlement discrepancies. 

·         Be responsible for various banking assignments including account opening, account closing, bank fee periodic analysis, reserve cash short term investment strategy. 

·         Handle all accounts receivable with 3rd party customers which includes settlement, invoicing and any reconciliations necessary. 

·         Work with ERP provider (NetSuite) to optimize the functionality of the accounting software to better meet the needs of our financial management team. 

·         Provide monthly financial projection journal entries at the beginning of each month that are later reconciled with actual monthly invoices. 

Establish and maintain a functional working knowledge of power purchase agreements, energy commodity master agreements, financial aspects of power system operations and all aspects of RTOs/ISOs settlement systems and regulation rules. 

·         Assist with analyzing and improving the settlements process, including designing metrics for measuring group performance. 

·         Prepare a work plan to estimate timeline and tasks necessary to complete any special requests. 

·         Coordinate the participation of others as needed for any special requests. 

·         Identify opportunities for operational cost reductions and performance optimization. 

  

Experience Requirements 

 

·         1 to 3 years of relevant work experience. 

·         Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures, experience in shared services center environment is helpful 

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills 

·         Strong working knowledge of financial analysis and valuation 

·         Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience 

·         Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc. 

 

 

Education Requirements 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Business degree required.
