The Position
AREVON is recruiting for the position of Vice President, Investment, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment as a key leadership team member of a rapidly growing company in one of the most important industries of the 21st century.
Job Description
A Vice President on the Investment team will evaluate and execute investment opportunities for North America across renewables, energy storage, and the energy transition sector.
As a Vice President, you will be responsible for analyzing investment opportunity materials, providing key insights into the economic impact of infrastructure investments, developing an investment thesis across renewables markets and emerging technologies, and forecasting financial performance of prospective investments.
You are an integral part of the due diligence process, managing third party advisors, reviewing proprietary financial models, arranging debt financing, and supporting negotiation of commercial and legal contracts. You will work closely with the associates, working to develop the team and provide guidance as they support the investment process.
Vice Presidents actively oversee and provide direction on new investments including but not limited to the following:
• Source and evaluate new investment opportunities, ranging from market assessment to competitive positioning, to initial underwriting and deal structuring.
• Due diligence on active deals, including power markets diligence, risk underwriting, and managing external advisors.
• Collaborate with the team on building robust flexible financial models to support deal underwriting and deal structuring efforts.
• Provide guidance on and support for transaction negotiations, often leading such negotiations; and
• Provide and oversee the hands-on support for investments following acquisition.
Qualifications
• Must have 4-6 years of principal investing and/or private equity experience.
• Prefer strong relationships in the renewables development market to source opportunities.
• Strong background in finance and economics with capability to underwrite power markets.
• Very analytical with financial modeling and accounting skills.
• Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to receive and deliver feedback well.
• Highly entrepreneurial, passion for knowledge, drive for excellence, business savvy, creative, high integrity.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree and strong GPA (MBA preferred but not required); and
• Power, utilities and/or renewables sector experience.
