The Position

This position is accountable for all aspects of operations and maintenance management for the Arevon Energy fleet. The employee will be responsible for managing the O&M provider and maintenance engineering team in-house to maximize availability at Arevon projects and develop a strategy to maintain the assets in a safe and reliable manner.

As Sr. Manager/Director of O&M Engineering, you’ll bring thorough knowledge of O&M best practices and be willing to share your innovative ideas to maximize generation at our projects. You will lead a team of engineers and analysts that will support operations and reliability engineering to manage outages, SCADA, Spare Parts and other equipment challenges.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of power plant equipment and reliable maintenance
  • Lead a team of engineers or technical specialists that perform engineering functions and support plant operations for Solar and Storage projects and oversee major evolutions on projects.
  • Manage service providers and support plant outages to minimize downtime of plant equipment.
  • Review O&M Contracts and Service agreements for Solar and Storage assets for technical nuances and identify areas of value generation scope that service providers can perform.
  • Develop a spare parts management plan for the fleet of projects and identify efficiencies with projects in the pipeline.
  • Develops standards and guidelines for diverse technical and engineering activities to keep projects performing at peak production.
  • Support internal NERC Compliance engineering needs with the help of the Regulatory affairs team.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering/technical complexities, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects.
  • Support the build out of tools and applications for monitoring and managing solar and storage assets.
  • Provide expert guidance to the SCADA team in the development and implementation of testing requirements applicable per the major project agreements.
  • Support turnover of assets from Construction to Operations and review punch list items prior to Substantial Completion.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering or related technical discipline
  • 10 years+ experience in solar, storage or wind energy, preferably in operation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • A self-starter with a passion for workplace safety, pushing for innovation, and embracing and seeking out new technologies, equipment, and best practices
  • Strong understanding of asset management and O&M processes
  • Proven ability to develop processes to manage solar, wind and energy storage system operations
  • Understanding of different electricity and capital markets for electricity generating assets (incentive programs, tax equity structures, and non-recourse debt)
  • Proficient in MS Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and deliver on tight reporting deadlines
