Job Summary - Gravity Haus Bicycle Mechanic 



A Gravity Haus Bike Mechanic is responsible for completing all required and preventative maintenance on the Gravity Haus demo bike fleet they’re assigned to, along with all associated record keeping in our computer based demo software. The Gravity Haus team is required to work a variety of hours, including weekends and holidays with the goal of keeping our bikes online and in top working condition for each demo ride. The ideal candidate is an independent and self-motivated technical expert who demonstrates attention to detail and has experience in a comparable position, especially with high-performance, high-use demo fleets. Interaction with the program director, property staff, suppliers and reps will be required for training, support and warranty issues. Our mechanics will also assist in training Gravity Haus staff to (and participating in) the process of fitting demo bikes to Gravity Haus members and guests.


An advanced understanding of bicycles and bike technology is required; winter equipment knowledge and experience is a plus as the program shifts seasonally. Candidates are able to identify and understand the purpose of each part on a bicycle as well as to be able to service, repair or replace each part. Hires must be able to lift a bicycle into a bike stand and storage fixtures. One or more years of bicycle shop experience is required. Bicycle repair technical school graduates preferred.


Job Requirements

  • Responsible for continued maintenance of the Gravity Haus demo fleet at the employee’s location.

  • Ability to maintain and service on Fox and Rockshox suspensions.

  • Ability to maintain and service hydraulic brake systems.

  • Ability to tune, maintain and service all shifting systems, including cable and electronic systems.

  • Ability to true and build wheels. 

  • Ability to properly size, fit and adjust bikes and their suspension for demo customers.

  • Wash bikes after every demo ride.

  • Work with Gravity Haus Staff to ensure safety on all bike demos.

  • Ability to follow and maintain all maintenance tracking SOPs

  • Ability to complete required paperwork in an accurate and legible manner.

  • Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures, including the capture of waiver and credit card details.

  • Ability to play the critical role of maintaining a safe demo fleet. 

  • Protect company liability in regard to services performed.

  • Provide customers with the highest level of technical and experiential service.

  • Gather and respond to service requests and ensure it is properly and safely completed to the member/guests’s satisfaction

  • Ensure service tracking is completed accurately, and filed accordingly after each repair or demo ride.

  • Ensure all proper housekeeping methods and overall cleanliness of the shop is adhered to.

  • Complete winter equipment service work as required to ready the WSE fleet for the next season.

  • Be willing to complete Gravity Haus duties outside of normal job function based on demands of the bike mechanic role, including retail sales and location needs.

  • Remain current on technical information through attendings, clinics and training.

  • May be responsible for ordering tools, replacement equipment, vendor warranty items based on shop needs.

  • Assist in the technical training and on-boarding of new and current Gravity Haus staff and bike mechanics/service technicians.
