Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Technology Services (TS) Lead is to develop full range of service capabilities within LanzaJet for the technology transfer and the commercialization of LanzaJet’s ethanol to SAF technology. The TS Lead will coordinate with the Operations and the Engineering Teams and build the infrastructure to support LanzaJet owned and licensed commercial plants. The support to the LanzaJet commercial plants will include services provided during the design phase, construction phase, start-up and stabilization phase, and turn-around phase activities. The TS Lead will be also conducting the training of the LanzaJet global customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead activities for the support of LanzaJet ATJ commercial plants,
  • Ensure safe and functional design of the plant by participating in the P&ID, safety (HAZOP, PHA, etc.), and 3-D model reviews,
  • Improve the technology by capturing and incorporating lessons learned from the operating plants in the new unit designs,
  • Be the primary interface with the customer and the customer’s EPC to answer any technical questions related to the construction of the unit,
  • Coordinate the inspection and check-out of the unit, prepare check lists, and advise on the changes/modifications to the design,
  • Prepare customer training modules,
  • Conductoom and field training of the customers,
  • Support various activities in the support of and start-up of the unit,
  • Coordinate process guarantee test run and get unit acceptance,
  • Monitor the unit performance by collecting and analyzing the unit performance data,
  • Develop remote monitoring capability,
  • Calculate and report the key performance indicators,
  • Estimate the remaining catalyst cycle life,
  • Provide guidance with any change in the overall plant objective,
  • Review any feed changes and provide guidelines for operation changes,
  • Troubleshoot plant operations, as needed.
  • Provide guidance for the reactor unloading and the safe shutdown of the plant,
  • Analyze complete catalyst cycle and conduct end of the cycle review,
  • Collect representative samples of the catalysts for post-mortem analysis, and
  • Support turn-around activities, as requested.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or science-related field is required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology services in the refining, petrochemical, or chemical industry.
  • Experience in working directly with customers.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience (>5 years)
  • Experience in the start-up and operation of new technology
