SoundThinking is seeking a passionate Sales individual with a proven track record and relevant experience to drive sales of our PlateRanger solution across the United States. PlateRanger is an advanced vehicle recognition solution that uses AI to gather multiple data points from the vehicle, providing actionable investigative leads, while sending real-time data and alerts to officers. The ideal candidate will possess effective sales diagnostic skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, a trusted-advisor mindset, and experience selling technology to law enforcement agencies.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage and mature an existing sales pipeline across the US as a National Sales Executive
- Develop a territory plan to penetrate the market as a new comer in the space, but an entrenched technology leader in public safety. Identify target opportunities that are well suited for PlateRanger and collaborate with marketing on outreach activities.
- Drive and manage an effective consultative sales process, from prospecting to closing deals.
- Develop and apply the skills of becoming a trusted advisor.
- Accurately manage forecast and pipeline using Salesforce.
- Review proposals and participate with Sales Operations in RFI/RFP response process.
- Collaborate with other internal team members, including the PlateRanger Team, to achieve company objectives.
- Develop account strategies and coordinate with other internal resources, such as Regional Sales Directors, Customer Success Directors, and our team of subject matter experts, to execute those strategies.
- Meet with prospective clients both onsite and virtually for presentations and other sales related activities.
- Work with government relations consultants to educate state, local, and federal stakeholders on benefits of PlateRanger and identify potential funding sources.
- Attend trade shows/conferences and actively engage attendees.
- Provide status and detailed reporting as requested by senior management on all accounts, opportunities, leads, proposals, and other pertinent information
- Manage business expenses and accurate reporting of activities.
- Participate with rest of company in non-sales activity as requested by management, including but not limited to certain tactical marketing collateral contribution, participation at industry or related events, involvement in company events, participation in demonstrations, etc.
- Significant travel within territory required. On average, expect 60-75% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in successfully selling SaaS technology and managing customer relationships in the public safety market
- Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Engaging presenter
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong, effective problem-solving skills and analytical ability
- Proficient in use of SalesForce and accurate forecasting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Preferably, experience using AI tools to streamline lead generation, personalize outreach, enhance forecasting, and identify deal risks to help prioritize efforts and close business more efficiently.
