Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Manager in daily and monthly accounting operations, including accounts payable, bank deposits and reconciliations, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses. This role will also assist with credit card transaction reconciliation and ensure the Company remains in compliance with state, county, and city business licensing requirements.

Reporting Relationship

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and support the Finance team in ensuring timely and accurate accounting operations. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, compliance tasks, and contribute to the successful execution of the monthly close process.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties

Process and record accounts payable transactions in accordance with company policies.
Prepare and record bank deposits; perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and prepaid accounts.
Review and record corporate credit card transactions.
Assist with the month-end close by preparing journal entries and supporting reconciliations.
Communicate with state, county, and city agencies to ensure business licenses and related compliance requirements are up to date.
Support internal and external audit requests with timely and accurate documentation.
Assist with ad hoc projects and process improvements as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience; internship or corporate accounting experience preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desire and ability to grow into more advanced accounting responsibilities over time.
