We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hands-On QA Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts for a multi-tenant SaaS application. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, the ability to perform all aspects of software quality assurance, and leadership skills to manage and mentor a small QA team. This role combines managerial responsibilities with hands-on work, including creating and executing test plans, writing automated tests, unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality of product delivery.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Lead and participate in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and cases to validate data isolation, user permissions, and functionality for multi-tenant SaaS applications with various configuration profiles.
  • Ensure that the defects are properly identified, documented, and tracked, ensuring timely resolution and clear traceability across testing phases.
  • Perform performance and load testing to ensure scalability and responsiveness of applications under peak load conditions, analyzing results to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Oversee and actively participate in the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts for regression and performance testing.
  • Continuously improve existing automation systems by integrating new technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and report quality metrics, providing actionable insights for continuous product improvement.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and overseeing daily activities.
  • Lead training initiatives to upskill the team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues with existing systems or new features, collaborating with cross-functional teams for resolution.
  • Contribute to DevOps practices by integrating QA into CI/CD pipelines and supporting deployment readiness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Software QA Engineering, with experience with testing configurable and/or multitenant applications
  • Minimum 3 years management or supervisory experience in a technical organization, preferably leading a QA team
  • Experience working in an Agile team
  • Proficiency in testing methodologies (manual and automated testing)
  • Proficiency with test management tools (e.g. JIRA, PractiTest, TestRail, Azure)
  • Strong experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)
  • Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Complete understanding of automation systems and databases
  • Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols
  • Expertise in automation testing tools like Selenium, Katalon Studio, or Cucumber
  • Knowledge of APIs and experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
  • Proficient in SQL for validating data integrity and conducting database testing.

Hybrid Workplace:

SoundThinking follows a hybrid schedule for employees who live equal to or less than 50 miles from one of our office locations, which include Fremont, CA, Tucson, AZ, Washington, D.C., or Iselin, NJ. Employees are expected to work onsite 3 days per week – the specific days are dependent on the office location.
