Quality Control Laboratory Technician (QC Lab Tech)This is a full-time role responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests in support of the Research and Development and Production departments. QC Lab Tech Requirements:

  • High School diploma, with some coursework or professional experience in chemistry, biology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of related experience, preferred.
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation is highly desired.
  • Must have ability to readily learn and apply various methods and techniques involved in scientific analyses.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Willing to consent to background check: social security, prior employment, and education verification, and criminal history check and to pre-employment drug screening.

QC Lab Tech Responsibilities:

  • Understands and performs appropriate chemical, physical, and functional studies/analyses with laboratory instruments following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and/or protocols.
  • Perform receiving, manufacturing, and packaging audits to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Analyzes and reports on samples submitted by R&D and Production departments.
  • Accurately documents and reports test results.
  • Maintains laboratory notebooks, summarizes, and analyzes acquired data. 
  • Prepares needed reagents and test equipment required for analyses.  Maintains the lab in an orderly fashion.  Cleans and prepares lab-ware.
  • Assures laboratory equipment is calibrated and in good working condition at the time of use by monitoring and troubleshooting its operation. 
  • Recognizes malfunctions in equipment and informs supervision; may perform simple repairs with appropriate documentation.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes in order to provide quality Customer service.
  • Recognizes test failures (compares to specs), test anomalies (atypical results, etc.), and instrumentation issues.
  • Assists in writing protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).  Follows all procedures related to data documentation and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Performs additional job-related duties and responsibilities as needed and directed by Supervisor.

  • Hourly pay $16-$19/hour

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires working and standing at the lab bench, as well as sitting at the computer terminal. 
  • Works with volatile and flammable solvents, toxic chemicals, and fine powders.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
