Position Summary
Our ideal candidate will be someone with experience in financial reporting who shares our passion for promoting the growth of sustainable energy and can thrive in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment. The Controller will work directly with the leadership of the business to design the financial systems, processes and controls to deliver accurate and compliant financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. IONNA’s base ledger is IFRS, but requires US GAAP financial statements for member reporting.
Technical and Accounting Policy: Maintain accounting policy framework, including updating for changes in IFRS standards, apply policy to new or atypical transactions or contracts, support forecasting and business decision-making.
Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee tax compliance services and processes.
Oversee Annual Audit: Coordinate efforts for annual audit, including overseeing PBC lists, answering policy and application questions, reviewing audit points and determining follow-up actions. Attend and support audit committee.
Team Management: Leading and managing the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Financial Systems: Provide governance and direction over design of financial systems, including master data structure, access rights and roles, and
Skills and Experience
- Finance, accounting or related business degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in corporate accounting and audit. Experience involving EV charging or other distributed network businesses is highly desirable.
- Systems and Tools: Past experience with NetSuite or similar systems is highly preferred. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office. Experience with data analytic tools such as Power BI is preferred.
- Process design: Experience designing processes to strengthen financial controls, and improve organizational efficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Have excellent teamwork and integration skills and must be a dynamic and proactive professional.
- Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and implement appropriate solutions.
