About IONNA
IONNA is redefining EV charging infrastructure by combining great design, cutting-edge technology, and driver-first experiences. Founded by eight of the world’s largest automakers, IONNA is creating a seamless, high-performance charging network that will transform the way people experience electric mobility.
To support our rapid growth, we’re looking for a Site and Architectural Designer—a versatile, creative problem-solver who can work across architecture, product visualization, branding, and UX. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on design work, iterative problem-solving, and contributing to real-world projects that enhance the EV charging experience.
The Role
As a Site and Architectural Designer, you’ll focus on the spatial and structural design of EV charging stations, ensuring efficient layouts and compliance with commercial standards. Your work will directly influence the feasibility and usability of charging sites, collaborating with Site Acquisition and Deployment teams to optimize station designs for real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct test fits and feasibility studies for potential charging station locations, emphasizing vehicle flow and operational efficiency.
- Develop site plans, floor plans, and layouts for commercial structures (e.g., gas stations, convenience stores) using AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
- Create 3D models (Rhino 3D) and renderings to visualize station designs and iterate on spatial solutions.
- Research materials, lighting, and finishes suited for high-traffic commercial environments.
- Assist in refining architectural standards for IONNA’s charging stations, ensuring durability and brand cohesion.
- Collaborate with teams to address site constraints (e.g., zoning, ADA compliance) while maintaining design integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- A minimum of 3 years in architectural design, preferably for commercial or retail structures (e.g., gas stations, convenience stores).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, and Bluebeam Revu; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and commercial construction practices.
- Experience with EV infrastructure or transportation projects is a bonus but not required.
Why Join IONNA?
- Impactful work: Design scalable solutions for a rapidly expanding EV network.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with engineers, planners, and deployment teams.
- Growth: Contribute to real-world projects backed by industry leaders.
