The Role
The Real Estate Due Diligence Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive due diligence for commercial real estate transactions. This role involves analyzing zoning regulations, evaluating preliminary power and flood maps, reviewing title reports, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct zoning analysis to determine the suitability of properties for development.
- Evaluate preliminary power availability and requirements for potential sites.
- Perform flood map evaluations to assess risk and compliance with flood plain regulations.
- Review and analyze title reports to identify any encumbrances or issues.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants to conduct site assessments and obtain necessary reports.
- Prepare detailed due diligence reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure all due diligence activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project timelines based on due diligence findings.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to due diligence activities.
Who You are
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in real estate due diligence or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of zoning laws, environmental regulations, and title review processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., AICP, PE).
- Experience with small to mid-size commercial real estate transactions.
