Position Summary
The Director of Construction will lead the construction program of the IONNA high speed charging network. The successful candidate will lead the construction of charging station infrastructure and accompanying amenities. They will build a team that will be responsible to take the design phase team’s design outputs to deliver on-time and on-schedule projects safely and reliably. This leader will also implement processes and controls to deliver on the budget, schedule, and safety KPI’s.


Responsibilities
• Lead and develop construction of DC fast charging installations and related amenities
• Define and manage operational plans and outcomes with Design Phase and Site Operations teams
• Ensure charging station operations achieves speed, quality, and reliability objectives based upon internal metrics, standards, and commissioning processes
• Hire, develop, retain, coach, and mentor a world class team; creating a proactive environment and culture focused to meet the organizational objectives
• Ability to identify, bid, and award contractors to execute contracts and ensure all deliverables meet the highest quality standards
• Accountable for achieving construction budgets and schedules; tracking all project costs, approving contractor and vendor requests costs and mitigating potential change orders
• Understanding of development processes and expertise in major real estate markets (including city agencies and zoning laws)
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement that drives team engagement, ownership, and operational excellence
• Partner with Site Operations to drive industry-leading uptime and help ensure a low-cost, high quality operating business


Skills and Experience
• A minimum of 10 years experience in Construction of EV Charging fast charging sites or equivalent industries
• Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of construction projects across multiple regions, AHJs, and utilities
• Deep experience in negotiating GC contracts
• Experience building, developing, and managing teams
• Exceptional communication and project management skills to effectively progress discussions with important stakeholders
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or equivalent
