How BrightBee Works: You’ll be an essential part of our dynamic workforce as an independent contractor, ready to respond and commute to on-site work opportunities at nearby K-12 schools and nonprofits via the BrightBee app. You’ll be able to pick which work assignments match your experience, preferences, and schedule and will never have to take on an assignment that you don’t feel is a fit for you.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Providing support to various departments within the school, such as the front office, classrooms, and cafeteria staff.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as filing, copying, and data entry.
- Helping to supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods.
- Assisting with classroom setup and cleanup, as well as preparing materials for lessons.
- Providing coverage for absent staff members, including teachers, aides, and other support personnel.
- Assisting with special projects and events, such as field trips, assemblies, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment for students and staff.
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Following school policies and procedures at all times.

While hourly pay varies based on assignment and experience required, on average assignments range from $16/hr - $18/hr at the starting rate. Due to our completed assignments milestone model, some Bees can make up to $25/hr! The more assignments you take and complete, the higher your earning power.
Who You Are:
- You have at least 60 college credits
- An individual with a genuine enthusiasm for working alongside children and youth along with alignment to our mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to public and charter schools within the applicant region, required.
- Ability to quickly adapt to varying school environments and perform without constant supervision.
- Dependability and punctuality are vital for fulfilling on-demand job opportunities efficiently.
- Prior to working with students, you will need to pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances. Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!
