Goddard is seeking a highly motived Principal Electrical Engineer to join the electrical engineering team designing state-of-the-art medical devices and robotic systems.  While working at Goddard Technologies in this role, you will be held accountable to be able to conduct yourself in the manners listed below and refine any needed skills to efficiently cover all responsibilities. Principal Electrical Design Engineering:

  1. Lead technical projects from concept to commercialization, including designing, prototyping, testing, and implementing electrical systems.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, mechanical engineering, software development, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of electrical components and systems.
  3. Lead development efforts to ensure that electrical systems meet safety and performance requirements.
  4. Work with clients on individual projects or as a team lead, team member, or support member.
  5. Create schematics and bill of materials and oversee the layout of these designs.
  6. Support regulatory submissions and approvals, including preparing technical documents and participating in regulatory agency audits.
  7. Debug and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance.
  8. Communicate technical risks and solutions to program management and clients.
  9. Lead and participate in design reviews.
  10. Lead and guide other engineering members in product development responsibilities.
  11. Provide clients with insight of a development process based on your years of experience and intuition.
  12. Pass on your knowledge to more junior members of the group.

 

Program/Project Managing:

  1. Communicate clearly and concisely with the client throughout a project or programs.
  2. Assist in client meetings to set expectations on project deliverables and high-risk areas.
  3. Manage and facilitate client interactions with strong, clear communication as it relates to deliverables, design reviews, deadlines, etc.
  4. Create and collect weekly project status updates as required.

 

Business Development Assistance/Support:

  1. Work with business development to collect and review requests for proposals or request for support on a time and material or project bases. Ascertain project requirements or qualifications necessary for client support.
  2. Define project scope including proposal composition, lead and deliver presentations, estimate and stabilize the most appropriate process and deliverable to satisfy client needs.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience.
  2. Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, microcontrollers, motors, sensors, and wireless communication protocols. Knowledge of battery technologies is a plus.
  3. Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD) and circuit simulation software (e.g., SPICE).
  4. Experience in medical and life sciences with IEC60601 and/or IEC61010 is a plus.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic circuits.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
