Objectives 

  • To work collaboratively with the School Leadership Team, teachers, operations and counselors  to create and progress monitor a safe, efficient learning environment for students.  
  • To create and support community-building culture activities and events.
  • To deepen preventative and restorative justice at CSA and ensure logical consequences and meaningful incentives are at the center of proactive and responsive discipline.  

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 
Support a Positive School Wide Culture 

  • Coordinate with the Thrive team to create grade-level and school-wide events that encourage a positive sense of community and investment in the school culture.
  • Support teachers to develop “teacher moves” that offer the least invasive interventions to address challenging behavior, preventative and restorative justice, and meaningful classroom incentives. 

 

Implement Student Behavior Management Programs 

  • Monitor student behavior via school-wide systems and provide necessary interventions to students at risk in alignment with CSA’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support with attendance interventions.
  • Support incident management by leading investigations and communicating. with parents.  Document support and incident management in Alma as directed.
  • Supervise in-school suspension (ISS) and alternate instruction during out-of-school (OSS). 

 

Other professional duties

  • Clock into and out of work daily;
    Participate promptly in arrival and dismissal, monitoring halls during transition, supervising student lunch periods to ensure maintenance of community norms in shared spaces;
  • Closely monitor and respond to work phone and walkie throughout the work day;
  • Chaperone field trips; attend at least two evening events per semester;
  • Respond to all parent communications within two work days;
  • Participate in formal parent conferences two or three times per year as needed;
  • Fulfill other responsibilities in collaboration with supervisor, or the Executive Director.
