The New York City Charter School of the Arts (CSA) seeks a dedicated Operations Associate—Facilities. This role will be crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our school and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment for our students and staff. This role is integral to our mission of inspiring a diverse community of young people to engage with the arts as a pathway to rich and rigorous academic learning and a creative, purposeful life.

Objectives:

  • Support the school's daily operations, facilities management, and food services

  • Maintain organized, clean and well-functioning main office and staff lounge environments

  • Assist with logistics for school events and activities

  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of school operations

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Main Office Support

  • Maintain Chromebook inventory systems
  • Assist with main office duties, student services, and reception
  • Manage staff/faculty work order spreadsheet system

Facilities Management

  • Execute operations, facilities, and food services task checklists
  • Organize and maintain school inventory, storage areas, and key management
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the school (ie bathroom checks)
  • Coordinate facility maintenance reporting and work requests
  • Ensure proper ventilation and air filter maintenance

 

Logistics and Event Support

  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures
  • Participate in assigned school duties (hall monitoring, lunchroom supervision, etc.)
  • Set up and break down events, including furniture arrangement and equipment setup
  • Support school-wide safety preparedness tasks

 

Food Service Assistance

  • Collaborate with NYCDOE OSFNS on meal accounting and reporting
  • Maintain or acquire Food Handler/Protection certification
  • Assist with food service and commons area clean-up
  • Manage inventory and communicate supply needs for student meals, snacks, and events

 

Other Professional Duties:

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Director

  • Maintain a positive relationship with CSA operations, staff, students, and DOE School Food personnel

  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required

  • Contribute to the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Adapt to changing needs and priorities in a dynamic school environment

  • Assist with school-wide initiatives and special projects as needed

  • Maintain punctuality when arriving to arrival, passing, and dismissal posts 

  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to walk, stand for long periods of time (with accommodations if needed)

 

 

Salary $50K/ commensurate with experience
