Summary/Objective

Uhnder has developed the world’s first automotive digital radar on chip (RoC).  Sensors based on Uhnder’s digitally coded modulation technology achieve new and unprecedented levels of performance for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving solutions.  Founded in 2015, its main engineering operations center is in Austin, Texas, USA with design facilities in India and China.

As a technical writer, you will join a team of software, systems and semiconductor experts to deliver world-class products with emphasis on technical documentation as we bring in the next generation of electronics surrounding us and impacting us in our everyday lives.  This is a full-time position. 

 

Essential Functions

As a Technical Writer for Uhnder, you will be part of the software engineering team and have experience with planning, developing, and maintaining documentation for embedded software and systems products.  You will create content according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, terminology and utilize relevant sample code and other technical specifications for internal and external audiences. These tasks will include creating programmers’ reference manuals, user guides, and other technical documentation. You will observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail these observations into documentation for a multi-faceted audience. You will study and create drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. You need to be able to comfortably manage and drive complex documentation projects.  

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of technical writing and product documentation experience.
  • Ability to read and understand source code written in C++, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience in programming esp. in a UNIX environment is highly preferred
  • Experience working in collaboration with software engineers on a daily basis. 
  • Experience working in collaboration with software engineers on a daily basis. 
  • Experience with product requirements and architectural tools esp. Jama or Doors is preferred. 
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools esp. Jira and Confluence is a major plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. 
  • Experience in desktop publishing software and graphics or photo imaging software
