Summary/Objective


Uhnder has developed the world’s first automotive digital Radar on Chip (RoC).  Sensors based on Uhnder’s Digitally Coded Modulation (DCM) technology achieve new and unprecedented levels of performance for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving solutions.  Founded in 2015, its main engineering operations center is in Austin, Texas, USA with design facilities in India and China.


As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will join a team of industry experts spanning mixed-signal, RF, digital, systems and software experts to develop the next generation of electronics surrounding us and impacting us in our everyday lives. 


 


Essential Functions:


  • Manage the qualification process of Uhnder Radar Modules through the EVT/DVT/PVT development phases
  • Manage the successful builds of Uhnder Radar Modules from prototypes through Mass Production
  • Provide input to design teams as to necessary changes to ensure the ability to meet manufacturing yield targets and cycle times
  • Perform statistical analysis of manufacturing yield data and work with manufacturing and engineering to ensure products meet yield and cycle time targets
  • Manage the day to day relationship with any 3rd party ODM or CM being contracted for the manufacturing of Uhnder Radar Sensors
  • Drive the efficient hand off of Uhnder Radar Sensors from prototype stage to ODM or CM’s
  • Plan and implement module level Regulatory Certifications (with 3rd parties) and associated industry qualifications
  • Work with engineering teams (EE, ME, SW) to ensure qualification plans are defined and implemented
  • Act as the Under owner for the definition and compliance to a Phased, Gated development process. Drive effective communication and training of the Development Process and install a process to measure adherence to the Process
  • Work with various engineering groups and take overall responsibility for all Manufacturing required EOL and PCBA test and calibration
  • Take ownership of ensuring that complete documentation packages exist such that 3rd party ODM or CM’s can efficiently transfer responsibility for the manufacturing of Uhnder Radar Modules


 


Required Education and Experience:


  • 5-10 years’ experience with the process of taking complex electronics from prototype to mass production manufacturing
  • Experience working with Asia based ODM’s or CM’s
  • Able to drive development of and adherence to a Phase, Gated Development Process
  • Proficiency using JIRA & Confluence for issue management and information exchange
  • A person with the potential to grow into a senior role but for the near term is an individual contributor and focused on execution
  • Mechanical Engineer BS or MS desired
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Self-starter and motivated, doesn’t require day to day tasking
