The Position:

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain the good condition and functionality of apartments and rental houses in the Tacoma area. You will perform maintenance tasks such as painting, turnovers, repairs, landscaping etc. A Maintenance Technician is thorough, practical and has acute attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

Salary: $28.00 to $32.00 /hour

Responsibilities:

· Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards

· Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)

· Conduct basic remodeling, construction as needed (drywall, painting, etc.)

· Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality

· Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed

· Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)

· Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide

· Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping, grounds) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)

You must possess:

Reliable vehicular transportation, along with a current driver's license, and vehicle liability insurance.

Your own basic hand tools to accomplish tasks

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in general building maintenance or similar role preferred.
  • Experience in multi-family or commercial property maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Ability to use standard tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications preferred- HVAC, EPA Universal, OSHA 10/30 Certification

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
  • This position may require travel between properties within the assigned portfolio. Some weekend or evening work may be required to respond to emergencies or meet deadlines.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license required for travel between properties or to attend meetings.
