Senior Manager, Corporate Relations

The Senior Manager, Corporate Relations is an essential member of the Development team that will be responsible for managing the Museum’s corporate funder portfolio, including a corporate membership program, calendar of engagement events, customized sponsorships, and more. A line of growing revenue for the Museum, the Sr. Manager will partner with the Director, Institutional Giving and Museum Leadership to build out new opportunities for support and engagement, including grants for exhibitions and programs, special events sponsorships, the corporate membership program, and more. This role will work closely with the Special Events and Individual Giving teams, as well as programs, education, and curatorial staff across the Museum. This is a full-time, regular position that reports directly to the Director, Institutional Giving.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Meet and exceed fundraising goals tied to corporate giving, including the corporate membership program, grants for exhibitions and programs, general operating support, special event sponsorships, and more.
  • Develop unique sponsorship packages and blended giving opportunities for corporate funders and prospects, collaborating with staff and leadership across the Museum when appropriate.
  • Write and submit proposals, reports, and presentations tied to corporate sponsorships and memberships.
  • Deliver exceptional stewardship to the Museum’s corporate portfolio, including when appropriate attending events, curator tours, offsite engagements, etc., as well as ensure execution of all corporate benefits.
  • Grow and maintain a strong corporate pipeline through ongoing prospect research, cultivation, and solicitation efforts, including partnership with Board Trustees when appropriate.
  • Track and manage corporate funder and prospect data in the Museum’s donor management system.
  • Train and supervise corporate volunteers, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

A successful candidate will have:

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in institutional development and/or corporate giving, marketing, client services, or sales, preferably in a New York City cultural institution or nonprofit.
  • Successful track record managing a portfolio of donors and/or funders, including meeting revenue goals through prospect research, donor stewardship and cultivation, and creative proposal development.
  • Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with donor management and research systems, and familiarity with the types of data necessary to support constituent/client/donor relations. Experience in Microsoft Office and Blackbaud Altru preferred.
  • Knowledge of current trends, patterns, and relationships in corporate philanthropy preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail, with analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Passion for New York City and appreciation for MCNY’s multi-faceted approach to exploring the city through history, popular culture, art, and civic engagement

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

 

Currently, MCNY offers a hybrid work schedule with three days a week onsite (Wednesdays and Thursdays are mandatory) and two days a week of flexible work when possible. In-person attendance may be required for meetings and events, even on flexible days. This schedule is subject to approval by supervisors and may change at any time. Weekend and evening work may be required to support special events as needed.

 

This role requires being stationary for 50% of the time and navigating office and Museum environments. Proficiency in operating office equipment and strong visual acuity (close, distance, color, and peripheral vision) is necessary for tasks like data analysis and computer use. Travel within the five boroughs may be required.

The annual salary for this position is $80,000. The position offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, life insurance, 401K and a defined benefit pension plan, short and long-term disability, and an Employee Assistance Program, with options for critical illness insurance, accident insurance, legal services, and pet insurance. The Museum provides a paid time off policy that includes 10 days of annual leave, rising to 15 days in year 2, and to 20 days in year 3, plus 12 sick days per year and 12 holidays.
